AI-Sexual? Arre Yaar, People Are Catching Feelings for Bots Now!

Arre yaar, these days Artificial Intelligence is literally everywhere — from office meetings to your own bedroom space. It’s not just about work anymore; people are getting emotionally attached, and in some cases, even exploring intimate sides with it. Full-on next level scene, boss.

And now, there’s a new term doing rounds — “AI-sexual.” Sounds filmy, but it’s actually coming from a survey.

As per a report by Joi AI, more than half — around 55% — of tech-savvy youngsters (Gen Z and Millennials, basically today’s digital junta) say they relate to being “AI-sexual.” In simple words, it means they’re open to forming intimate or even romantic-style interactions with AI tools like chatbots or virtual companions. Matlab, not just chatting for timepass — something deeper is also happening.

Now see, using AI in relationships is not some brand-new jugaad. You must have already seen those viral stories — people “marrying” their AI partners or even breaking up because the AI said something off. Total hatke, but also slightly concerning, no?

What earlier looked like a niche or odd habit is slowly becoming normal for many. People are using AI as a no-judgment zone — a chill space to understand their feelings, ask personal questions, practice flirting, or even test out fantasies without pressure. Safe side pe rehkar exploration, you can say.

So what are people actually doing?

According to the survey, quite a few interesting patterns came up:

  • 43% use AI for advice on personal or intimate matters

  • 37% practice flirting or dating conversations

  • 33% engage in private or suggestive chats

  • 31% explore new interests before trying them in real life

  • 25% even explore things they would never try in reality

And surprisingly, 61% said it actually improved their real-life experiences, while 60% discovered new preferences through AI. Matlab, AI is becoming like a low-risk testing ground.

But is this really a “new identity”?

Ab yahan pe thoda full stop lagana zaroori hai.

Experts are not fully convinced that this “AI-sexual” label should be taken so seriously. Ruchi Ruuh, for example, feels that we are in a hurry to label everything these days.

She basically says — why give every behaviour a tag, yaar? Just because people are experimenting doesn’t mean it becomes a full identity.

Her point is quite sensible: if someone becomes too dependent on AI — like they cannot function without it — then maybe it starts shaping their identity. Similar to how certain strong habits or preferences work. But right now, most people are just switching between real-life relationships and AI interactions. Thoda idhar, thoda udhar — balance chal raha hai.

The bigger picture

At the end of the day, this whole “AI-sexual” trend shows one thing clearly — technology is not just changing how we work or communicate, but also how we understand intimacy and connection.

But whether it’s just a phase, a tool, or something deeper… that’s still up for debate.

One thing is pakka though — the line between real and virtual is getting blurrier day by day. And bhai, future ka scene… full unpredictable lag raha hai.
