The new series returns to Hillman College, but follows a new generation of students.   At the center is Deborah Wayne, played by Maleah Joi Moon. Deborah is the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, two beloved characters from the original series. As she begins her freshman year at her parents’ alma mater, Deborah has to navigate college life while also trying to establish her own identity rather than simply living in the shadow of her famous Hillman parents.
